Testimonials
"An incredibly beautiful house — everyone loved it. Great location, and we rented a boat right from Stø harbour and did several mountain hikes starting from the door. Alina and Jan-Lamber were incredibly quick to reply to every question. Clean, well-equipped and just as we needed. We really recommend the house and the area."

How many guests can Villa Stø accommodate?
The villa comfortably sleeps 8 guests. It's ideal for two families travelling together, or a group of friends.

-

-
Do I need to rent a car?
Yes, we strongly recommend a rental car. Stø is a peaceful fishing village at the end of the road, and having a car lets you explore the region — from Andenes for whale watching to the beaches and mountains of the Vesterålen coast. Nearest supermarket is in Myre, about 20 minutes away.
-
What's the nearest airport?
Stokmarknes Skagen (SKN) is only about 1 hour 15 minutes by car, with Widerøe connections via Bodø and Tromsø. Harstad/Narvik Evenes (EVE) is around 3 hours away but has more direct flights from Oslo.
-
Is there fast Wi-Fi? Can I work remotely?
Yes. The villa has fast, reliable Wi-Fi throughout, and the large dining table doubles as a comfortable workspace. Several of our guests come specifically for a "workation" combining focused work with hikes at the end of the day.
-
Are pets allowed?
Unfortunately, we don't allow pets in Villa Stø.
-
Can I go fishing?
Absolutely — the waters around Stø are among the richest in Norway. You can fish from the harbour or the nearby coast, and we can recommend local operators for boat rental or guided fishing trips. Just ask us on arrival.
-
When can I see the northern lights?
The aurora season runs from early September to late March. Stø lies directly under the auroral oval at 69°N, and with no light pollution you can often watch the northern lights right from the villa terrace on clear nights. Peak activity tends to be from October to February.
-
What can I do in summer?
Summer at 69°N means the midnight sun — 24 hours of daylight from late May to mid-July. Highlights include the famous Dronningruta hike (starts at your doorstep), summer whale safaris from Andenes, kayaking, fishing, and long, bright evenings on the terrace.
-
Is the villa comfortable in winter?
Yes — the villa is fully insulated, well heated, and just as comfortable in winter as in summer. Roads to Stø are cleared regularly by the municipality. Winter tyres are legally required on rental cars in Norway from November through March, so most rental agencies fit them automatically.
-
How do I book — and is it cheaper to book direct?
You can book directly through this website using the calendar above. Booking direct is our best price: no platform fees, and you're supporting a small family-run rental. We're also listed on Airbnb, Booking.com and Vrbo if you prefer.
