About us
Meet your hosts:
Alina & Jan-Lamber
Hei!
We're Alina and Jan-Lamber, a Dutch family who lost our hearts to the far north of Norway. What started as a holiday to Vesterålen became a love story with a small fishing village at the end of the road: Stø. The light, the silence, the mountains dropping straight into the ocean. We knew we wanted to share this place. We furnished Villa Stø the way we love to travel ourselves: spacious, warm and comfortable, so that after a day of hiking, fishing or chasing the northern lights, coming home feels just as good as being out there. We spend every summer here with our daughter, so everything in the house is tested by a real family, including the long dinners at the big table. We may live in the Netherlands, but we're never far away: we respond quickly, we know every trail, harbour and weather quirk around Stø, and we love helping our guests plan their days.
Ask us anything from where the whales are to when the aurora forecast looks promising.
Velkommen, we can't wait to welcome you to Stø.

How we started
The first time we set foot in Villa Stø, it was empty, cold, and 69°N in the middle of winter. We had travelled all the way from the Netherlands and knew almost nobody. What we did have was a feeling — the Arctic light on the mountains, the silence, and the open ocean just beyond the terrace.
That first evening we lit the fire, unpacked one box, and stood in front of the window for a long time. Snow on the peaks, the harbour quiet below, and the first hints of green in the sky above. We looked at each other and knew: this was going to be our second home, and we wanted to share it.
The years since have added everything you now find at the villa — the long dining table, the reading corner by the window, the terrace we didn't want to leave. But the feeling from that first winter evening is still what we hope every guest arrives to. Welcome to Stø.
Our team
Alina designed every corner of Villa Stø — the flow of the rooms, the long dining table, the reading corner by the window, and the terrace we didn't want to leave. What you see is her work, refined over years of watching what makes families and groups truly relax.
Between guests, she works closely with our local cleaning team in Stø. Together they make sure that when you walk through the door, the house already feels warm, ready, and yours — the same feeling we had that first winter evening.
